Bulletin Greeting: November 23, 2025

Take a moment and think about the times that you have seen the President leaving the White House, or the Pope going out in public. What do they have in common? Both are surrounded by security, even the Holy Father. Now, with this is mind, consider the closeness of Jesus.

It is a rare occasion for me to be left speechless, but I am often at a loss for words when I think about the gift of the Eucharist. I can’t imagine being able to be in close proximity to the President, or to the Pope, yet Christ the King of the Universe has such a great love for us that we are not only permitted to be near Him, but we touch Him and receive Him in the appearance of bread and wine.

This weekend as we celebrate Our Lord Jesus Christ, King of the Universe, we are reminded that Christ did not simply ascend into Heaven, rather He took His place on the throne as Lord and King.

In the Eucharist, Christ our Lord and King gives himself to us as the greatest gift of love the world has ever known. Our faith teaches us that this gift is the “source and summit of our faith.” Life in Christ gives birth to the gift of faith in our life, and it is in eternal union with Christ in Heaven that our life finds its true end, the summit of the Christian faith.

This week is also Thanksgiving, which is a perfect opportunity to pause our busy lives to give thanks to Christ, our Lord and King, for the many gifts and graces He so generously bestows upon us. Our Thanksgiving Day Masses are:

9am at St. Mary, Queen of Heaven

10am at St. Benignus

May the Lord Jesus, King of the Universe continue to bless you and keep you during this season of joy and thanks. Happy Thanksgiving!
